1. After stripping, what is done to prevent rusting of parts ?

Since our processes are alkaline, parts don't tend to rust as they would with acid processes if they are kept dry. We can apply an iron phosphate coating which provides some protection, however parts should be painted as soon as possible in any event. Parts must be protected from rain after being picked up.

2. How much disassembly is required before bringing my antique car for processing ?

As a minimum, all upholstery, wiring, rubber, plastic and non ferrous metal must be removed. Also, any heat treated (hardened ) parts such as springs must be removed ( they must be processed separately ) The more thorough the disassembly, the better the results.

3. If I bring parts on a trailer, can I leave the trailer until I return for my parts ?

Yes.

4. My car has severe rust. Will there be anything left of it after stripping ?

Our processes do not remove any additional metal. Welding in repair sections is much easier after derusting because the metal is clean, which results in better welds. Also, rust damage will be easier to assess.

5. Can the Electrocoating serve as a finish coat ?

The Electrocoat finish is not ultraviolet resistant so can not be used as an outdoor finish coat and we only apply black. For outdoor use a suitable powder coat or other UV resistant finish should be used.

6. How can I get a cost estimate for processing my parts ?

For manufacturers or other jobs involving large quantities of identical parts, submit a sample part ( or call us and we will send a representative to look at it )

Generally, car parts can be estimated by phone.

7. What colors are available in powder coat finishes ?

Virtually any color and gloss is available. We have many colors on hand and can get other colors within a few days.
